Katherine Heigl leaving Grey’s Anatomy after contract talks die? Not so

There has been a lot of rumors that Katherine Heigl, who plays the lovanle Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy, had left contract negotiations primarily because she felt her work wasn’t valued as much as costars Isaiah Washington and Sandra Oh. Then ABC fought back that Izzie would be around for years to come because her contract was a multi-year contract (still three more years to go), and that they were simply offering her more money out of appreciation of her work. Now Katherine has fought back.
I am embarrassed that this has become a public matter and disappointed that Touchstone felt it necessary to divulge private employment information. I had hoped I would be able to deal with this issue confidentially with my bosses. I dropped out of the renegotiation simply because I wanted to treat myself with the respect I was not getting from them. No matter how unhappy I am about their decision to respond to this publicly, I continue to be passionate about and committed to this character.
You go girl! Frankly, I couldn’t imagine Grey’s without Izzie and they should be paying her what she’s worth. Now Isaiah Washington, on the other hand, just can him and give his money to Katherine, and it’s all good.
But seriously, when will the drama stop? Almost sounds like it was an ABC ploy to keep Grey’s Anatomy in the news, especially when we are faced with a few weeks of no new episodes.
